THE IMPORTANCE OF BRAND BUILDING A common misconception among many businesses and especially startups is that branding is simply a logo or tagline. In fact, this is merely scratching the surface and although they are key elements of it, branding does, however, go far beyond this. Branding is the essence of your company and involves every aspect of a customer’s experience as well as evoking your company culture. That means from the logo to your website, from app design to your social media posts to what staff wear to work and how they communicate with one another; these are all aspects of your brand. This extends also to how you communicate with clients and customers and the tone of voice you adopt. In short, branding is the way in which your customer perceives you when they hear or think of your company name, service or product. This includes factual information they know about your brand such as the colour of your packaging but also the emotive elements such as whether your product is luxurious or your office a fun place to work.
